Springing the Blues
The Springing the Blues Festival, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, is one of the largest and oldest Blues festivals on the East Coast. It is held on the first weekend in April every year. The dates for 2008 are Friday, April 4, Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6 at the Seawalk Plaza at Jacksonville Beach. This will mark the 18th year of the festival. The event is free and is mainly sponsored by George's Music. This year, there will also be a Springing The Blues Film Festival featuring Robert Mugge with his films. This will be at the Orca Room, Quality Suites Hotel (next to festival).

Gate River Run
The Gate River Run (GRR), formerly known as the Jacksonville River Run, is an annual 15K road race in Jacksonville, Florida that attracts both competitive and recreational runners. It has been the US National Championship 15K since 1994 and in 2007 became the largest 15K race in the country. It "was voted [as] one of the top US Road Races for last 20 years by Runner's World Magazine."

Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance
he Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is an automotive charitable event held each year during the second weekend in March on the Amelia Island Golf Links at Amelia Island, Florida. A New York Times article about celebrity car ownership listed "the nation's top concours d'elegance: Pebble Beach in California, Meadow Brook in Michigan, Amelia Island in Florida and the Louis Vuitton Classic in midtown Manhattan."

Annual Butterfly Festival
April is Florida Butterfly & Butterfly Gardening Month. Tree Hill Nature Center mascot, Bella Butterfly, invites you to celebrate Tree Hill style Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the nature center’s 9th Annual Butterfly Festival.

The festival features a live butterfly exhibit, games and activities for children, live entertainment, special lectures, food and much more. Guests are encouraged to roam the trails, learn more about butterfly gardening and the environment from local experts, and shop at the Monarch Mall, where vendors showcase everything from native plants to yard art and jewelry.

Jacksonville Film Festival
The Jacksonville Film Festival is staged every May and features a variety of independent films, documentaries, and shorts screening at seven historic venues in the city. Past attendees of the festival have included director John Landis and Academy Award nominee Bill Murray and winner Graham Greene, both of whom were awarded the Tortuga Verde Lifetime Achievement Award

World of Nations Celebration
World of Nations Celebration is North Florida’s largest multicultural festival, featuring Jacksonville, Florida’s diverse communities since 1993. The four-day festival in Metropolitan Park is held annually in early May. The celebration hosts over 75,000 visitors, including 12,000 children on school field trips Thursday and Friday to experience the food, music, culture and traditions from a multitude of other countries that make up our world. On Saturday morning, there is a naturalization ceremony at 10 am, where as many as 50 people become U.S. citizens.
